GRATITUDE!
So Grateful for the chance to share my creativity and love of music with the world! Thanks to my boys and loving husband for all their encouragement and confidence in me!
Songwriting and Sharing My Views
I'm not really one of those kinds of people that will write a whole book about my views about things--but I have written tons and tons of songs and poems that express my view of what are probably common feelings among most women. I took a break from SANDRA'S STAND and now I'm back! The goal is to share my songwriting and poetry journey with you as I prepare to put a new album together sometime in the next year or so. Goals are good--life sometime's isn't, but that doesn't stop me and shouldn't stop you from dreaming!
Now that I'm a grandmother I have perspective and yes--a good deal of life experience. That's not to say that I think I know everything--I did think that in my 30's--but life's ups and down have a way of putting us in places that stretch us beyond what we thought we could do or supposed we could do. I want to share that journey through poetry and song. I've been doing that since I got my first guitar at age 14 and my friends who knew me then will tell you that I always had a song to sing. Through discouragement, displacement and amid stress, the music's always been there for me. I lost my ability to sing for five years too--silence has been hard for my heart. It's coming back slowly and I want to use it in the way I do best. I want to be a voice for good, for real, for what matters most in the lives of women--of everyone. I hope you'll join me on the journey.
