INTERMUSE KODALY WORKSHOP Day 1

Its day one here at BYU kodaly training. I checked into the dorm last night and was immediately disappointed to learn I wouldn't have access to a fridge or internet. Right now I can't decide which is worse.  But there is WI FI on campus do I should be ok. I don't know how much singing I'll be able to do as I couldn't get to sleep until after 1 am.  The bed sits on a high metal frame that bounced every time I breathed. After dragging it to the floor I slept fine. I will need to spend some time doing yoga today though. The breakfast dilemma was solved as Subway is open at 7 in the campus food court. Thank goodness for their new menu items...egg whites and English muffins. In 30 minutes I'll be officially beginning my two week journey here.

Summertime- Professional Development-Great Weather-Music Making

I'm going to begin my Kodaly I training at BYU this summer. It's a two week course that will enrich my teaching skills with game songs, movement activities and singing tips. I'm excited to be in the Choir that will perform on June 14. I'm staying in Heritage Halls and feel like a freshman again...hope I don't act like one too! I hope to gain some insights and inspiration for some more children's music. Lastly, I'm looking forward to some "me" time with some fellow music teachers and the beautiful Utah summer weather.
